Exploring

{Lee's face looks a bit distorted due to the tree- woops}

Lee & I love to explore the woods together. I enjoy the time spent holding his hand and getting my work-out on & he gets to be near animals. It's a win win for both of us. On this particular occasion Lee wanted to show me a spot he had in mind for wedding pictures. Eeeek! Still can't believe we get to have a wedding & be married people who sleep by each other and such. I am getting lots done as far as planning goes and plan to share bits & pieces of inspiration and ideas here as we get further along. Hope your week is peachy!

DIY Bridesmaid Invites

Supplies:
1/ Colorful Sharpies
2/ Sequins or confetti
3/ Scissors
4/ Chevron ribbon
5/ Plain colored cards & Envelopes
6/ String of your choice
7/ Hearts cut from fabric in the shade of bridesmaid dress color
8/ Washi tape
9/ Glue

I knew that I wanted to craft up a special way to ask my beautiful friends to be a part of the big day ever since I pinned this pin here!  So here you have it - a very simple DIY card with a hand written message to each of them.  & now you all know the color I have chosen for their dresses...mustard yellow! I cut out a heart shaped piece of mustard fabric, glued it into the card, & told them that this would be the color of the dresses, but that I wanted each one to be unique and summery (if that's even a word?!) I have fallen hard for mustard in probably the last year and couldn't imagine the day any other way. The sequins were the final touch, placed inside the card in a big messy pile so that as they each opened them up a little mini confetti party would take place. The only hard part about asking in this manner was waiting for what seemed like forever to actually "ask them". I am so not good with surprises, but it was well worth the wait.

How did you ask your bridesmaids to be a part of your wedding day?! I would love to hear...

we're engaged!!!!!!!

at 6:30 in the morning, in the middle of the woods, while wearing camo pants, moments after shooting a turkey Leland John - my bestest friend, truest companion, & most patient turkey hunting guide asked me to be his wife. to spend forever together. to raise babies & battle the ups and downs of life together. to live out & encourage each other in our dreams together. what a happy day! & thanks to lee's good friend, Taylor the entire proposal is on film and will be shared one day on this here blog. for now we are savoring in the first moments of the term fiance and hitting the wedding magazines. thank you lee for making me the happiest girl in the world. you have the biggest most patient & tender heart and I am so ready to explore the world with you.

a bible verse a week

//ring from my valentine with our initials from here//
hello there. long time no post. that's because i have been busy busy with my internship learning the art of tax preparation and boy what an art it is. it's go go go until April 15th for this girl, yay uncle sam.

how sweet & unique is this ring from lee?! i am in love. it's so dainty and perfect.

3 weeks ago now, we attended the tenth ave north/rend collective/moriah peters concert.  boy what an overwhelming sense of love for christ and the world did i leave there that night with. it's amazing how god knows just when we are in need of new direction.

as we left i proceeded to tell lee the following things (in no particular order):

1/i wish we could play instruments and call time-out to pick up our instruments to worship jesus and dance a little jig together...all we have is our voices i guess
2/i want everyone to know how much jesus loves them, i want them to know they are beautiful and worth it - it makes me so sad and mad when people do not live for him lee grrrrr
3/i wish that i were irish...i wish that you had an accent
4/ i really want to become better at the memorization of bible verses so that i can spit them out when the situation calls

& that is the reason for this here post, to challenge you to join us in concentrating on one bible verse a week. each sunday lee and i trade off choosing a verse to focus on throughout our week. we remind, quiz, and study the verse so that by the end of the week we no longer have to look to say it - remembering book, verse, chapter and all.

our first week was Romans 8:28 "and in all things God works for the good of those that love him, who are called according to his purpose." (i didn't even have to look to type that - improvement right here!). we have done two more since then and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

hope your week is peachy!
